Scout Report – Javairo Dilrosun

Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly eyeing a January move for Manchester City youth star Javairo Dilrosun. City had to beat a lot of other teams for Dilrosun’s signature when they took him from Ajax and it looks like the interest in him simply fails to recede. Now, the interest is a lot stronger since the player has about 6 months left on his contract with the club.

Hence, both Liverpool and Dortmund are understood to be keen on securing a move and are monitoring Dilrosun’s situation. Signing a player like him would undoubtedly strengthen the club’s policies of signing youth talent and both clubs are more than capable of developing him. Hence, let’s take a closer look at Dilrosun’s profile.

History

A Netherlands citizen by birth, Dilrosun arrived on a transfer to Manchester City from Ajax in 2014. In fact, back then, he was one of the two Dutch youngsters who joined the club. The winger slotted comfortably into the U18 squad alongside his Netherlands youth teammate Rodney Kongolo.

Dilrosun has already made quite a mark at City and it comes as no surprise that so many teams are continuing to monitor his growth. He has made 19 league appearances for the U18 side so far, while also being a member of the UEFA Youth League squad. Also, the winger made his debut at the U21 level recently, despite being a first-year scholar.

Playing Style

Dilrosun’s pace and creativity on the left truly set him apart. He is speedy and effective at racing to the byline and cutting in to beat the opponents. His dribbling and passing skills are top-notch and his accuracy is quite stellar for a player so young. He has a mature reading of the game which often translates to speedy decision-making on the field.

The player, however, will need to work on his concentration since his focus often ends up wavering during the game. That said, he is still very young and has a lot of time to improve his trade.

Dilrosun’s Future

One of Netherlands’ brightest young prospects, Dilrosun will be an asset regardless of which club he joins. Trying to break into City’s current squad might prove to be futile for the winger since Pep Guardiola has a surplus of attacking players right now. Hence, a move away from City could actually help him in taking the next step in his career.

Liverpool and Dortmund are both suitable for the winger. Both clubs often give chances to youngsters and that will be a key criterion for him to consider before deciding to join a club.
