What If Liverpool Fail To Sign Lacazette? Here Are Two Super Alternatives For Klopp To Target

Share

Three Strikers Who Liverpool Can Target Instead Of Alexandre Lacazette

Jurgen Klopp helped his Liverpool side to a place in the Champions League in his first full season at Anfield. However, he will know that his side needs some stark improvements in more than one position if they are to compete with the best in Europe. Klopp has been linked with some of the biggest stars in European football recently and AS Lyon’s French star Alexandre Lacazette is right up there with the best.

The prolific goal scorer has been in terrific form this season for the French outfit but is now ready for a move away from France, in search of a new challenge. Reports suggest that La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid have all but finalised a deal for the striker and if that is true, Liverpool will quickly have to revert to plan B. but do they have one? Here are three players they should target if they really miss out on Lacazette:

Timo Werner (RB Leipzig)

The versatile German attacker has been in tremendous form for the Bundesliga outfit Leipzig and has been the first choice this season. He has 21 goals and 7 assists to his name, and having helped his side to a 2nd place finish, he also earned himself his first national call-up last campaign. He is highly rated in the German circuit and is a player who fits Klopp’s style of play pretty well. Surely, he is a player who can replicate what Lacazette would have done at Anfield.

Moussa Dembele (Celtic)

The French striker is one of the most exciting talents on display currently in Europe and though he is settled at the Glasgow-based club, he is a potential star and will be looking for a better destination. He will remain the first choice under Brendan Rodgers, but the manager’s previous club, Liverpool, are also in dire need of a striker and this might see Dembele get tempted for a move. He is not too expensive and might be the perfect solution for Klopp’s problems.
