West Ham’s Transfer Mistakes: Selling These Two Players Was A Blunder In Recent Times

James Tomkins (Crystal Palace)

The versatile defender, who can play on the wing or as a CDM, is a product of the West Ham academy and was a pillar at the back for the club before the start of the current season. Slaven Bilic, for some strange reason, decided to sell him and allowed the 27-year old to join a Premier League local rival, after 206 appearances for the Hammers. Palace have made decent use of him this season and Tomkins has been one of the bright spots for the Eagles in a mediocre season at the Selhurst Park. In 20 appearance, Tomkins has scored almost half as many goals as he did for West Ham, and Slaven Bilic will surely be scratching his head as to why he let him go. At 27, he is in his prime and West Ham, with all their injuries, would have loved to have their academy graduate in the current squad.
