Why West Ham’s Short-Term Move For This Chelsea Attacker Is A Great Deal For All The Parties Involved

Michy Batshuayi

With more than half of the season already on the books, it’s safe to say that we have a pretty clear idea of what are the needs of every single team in the English Premier League ahead of the Winter transfer window.

While some of the teams are thriving on the verge of an outstanding year, other have been a major disappointment, but it isn’t too late to fix some things and make the required adjustments to set the course straight for the second leg of the season.

A team which has struggled mightily with inconsistency so far this year is Slaven Bilic’s West Ham, as the Croatian hasn’t been able to find a steady and reliable starting XI and despite having a very good roster overall, the Hammers haven’t shown the same face they did during the past season where they surprised a lot of people.

One of the main reasons why this team hasn’t been able to build on the great season they had last year is their offensive woes, as Simone Zaza has been a huge flop while both Ayew and Andy Carroll were sidelined with injuries for a very long time, leaving the team without any major presence in offence besides Dimitri Payet.

On the other hand, there have been some players who have also struggled to get anything going for their teams due to the lack of minutes, so making a loan move elsewhere could actually help them get their confidence and rhythm back, and that’s what West Ham should be looking for right now.

West Ham will make a move for Michy Batshuayi this window

Having said that, it’s been reported that both Chelsea and one of their new signings, Michy Batshuayi are interested in setting a loan move for the 23-year-old striker, and West Ham United have allegedly shown a lot of interest in acquiring the talented forward.

The Belgian hasn’t been able to play consistently due to Diego Costa’s great season, while the Hammers are vying to score goals, so this move would make a lot of sense for both parties and could actually kickstart Michy’s career, as it happened with his buddy and compatriot Romelu Lukaku, when he played at West Bromwich Albion and Everton.

Chelsea’s reportedly looking to add some depth in the striking position, making inquiries about Swansea’s go – to guy Fernando Llorente, so it looks like Batshuayi doesn’t fit in Antonio Conte’s plans, at least for the time being.

The talented 23-year-old showed what he’s capable of during his Marseille stint, but hasn’t been able to make an impact at Chelsea’s first team and his confidence just seems way off whenever he’s on the pitch, so making a move to a team where he can actually play is definitely what he needs.

Batshuayi has an amazing touch for scoring and a strong finish ability, and he could provide a major boost for a Hammers team that wouldn’t score a single goal if it weren’t for Dimitri Payet, so they should definitely pursue this guy and acquire him while he’s still available.
