The Next 3 Fixtures Are Crucial For West Ham United And They Must Look To Win All Of Them
West Ham are currently 15th in the Premier League table and are not in good shape. They are tied with Everton and Brighton on 7 points, but they will have a chance to pick up 9 crucial points ahead of their tough encounter against Liverpool.
The Hammers play Burnley away, Brighton and Hove Albion at home, following which they will make a visit to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace towards the end of October. Nine points up for grabs from their next three games, but can they do it?
Ordinarily, this itself could have been enough for them to hope for a victory but this season, the tables have turned to an extent. Burnley are 6th in the table while Brighton sit ahead of West Ham in terms of goal difference. However, there is still hope for Bilic’s men.
Last season, West Ham held Burnley to a 0-0 draw before Mark Noble’s penalty put them 1-0 up at the London Stadium. In the reverse fixture, West Ham traveled to Turf Moor for the final game of the Premier League season where they won the game 2-1, thanks to Andre Ayew and Sofiane Feghouli.
While Burnley’s 1-0 win over Everton this season could cause some concern, Bilic will be aware of the need to win this game.
Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove Albion are a newly promoted side, and on paper, West Ham look stronger. However, one can never be too sure of an outcome in the Premier League. Brighton’s performances so far have been quite classy. This will be an interesting game too as their boss Chris Hughton will be eager to line up against some equal opponents.
With both West Ham and Brighton on such an equal footing at the moment, the match will prove to be quite crucial. Brighton, too, will be out to win three points, thus making it all the more necessary for Bilic’s men to crush their opponents.
On the other hand, Roy Hodgson and his Crystal Palace side are living rough at the moment. Bottom of the League with no points whatsoever, it’s not exactly looking any better for the Eagles as they host Chelsea this weekend.
Moreover, they are unlikely to receive any respite even when they meet West Ham, provided the Hammers escape injuries and suspensions until then.
