West Ham Hijack Arsenal Transfer: Bid Was Accepted For Defender

Mathieu Debuchy

Arsenal’s Mathieu Debuchy was linked with a loan move to Galatasaray this summer but according to reports from Fanatik, West Ham United has hijacked the deal midway.

The report claims that the 31-year old Frenchman was supposed to leave Emirates for regular game time and move on a season-long loan to Galatasaray. However, West Ham United intercepted the move in between and has made an offer to Arsenal to send Debuchy to them instead. The player is currently below Bellerin in the pecking order for the right back position at Arsenal and is keen to get some regular football.

However, with several Arsenal defenders injured, the Gunners are looking rather thin at the defence and will need Debuchy to cover different positions just in case. The loan move has been reported to have placed on hold until Arsenal can find someone suitable to come into the team. Mustafi and Evans has been named recently as the most likely new recruitment.
