Ward In Goal, Coutinho In Central Midfield – Strongest 4-3-3 Liverpool Line-up To Face Huddersfield

Predicted Liverpool Line-up To Face Huddersfield Town In The Premier League

After a disastrous defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, an under pressure Liverpool side, currently 9th in the points table, are getting ready to face a gritty Huddersfield Town side at Anfield this weekend. The Terriers managed to inflict Manchester United’s first loss of the season last weekend and will be high on confidence going into this game.

David Wagner, the Huddersfield boss, is a close friend of the German tactician at Anfield and this will be the first time the duo will face off in such a high octane encounter. But there will be no letting down as both teams will fight for three crucial points.

Team News

Liverpool are still without the services of Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne, who are nursing their respective injuries. Georginio Wijnaldum missed the previous league game with a knock but is expected to be fit for this tie. After the disaster at Wembley, Klopp is seems ready to make wholesale changes to his backline.

Expected Line-up (4-3-3)

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

GK – Danny Ward

Mignolet deserves to be dropped and though Loris Karius is next in line, Klopp should give Ward a run in the top flight, sticking with the German for the European games.

RB – Trent Alexander-Arnold

The youngster has hardly been at fault for Liverpool’s defensive frailties this season and deserves to start at right-back.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

CB – Joel Matip

Though not impressive, Matip is Liverpool’s senior defender and Klopp should stick with him even after the disaster at Wembley.

CB – Joe Gomez

The English ace put in a solid performance at the back alongside Matip in the last hour against Spurs and deserves to start over Lovren and even Ragnar Klavan, who has not been too impressive.

LB – Alberto Moreno

Though Robertson deserves a run in the first-team, Moreno has been impressive this season and should start at left-back this weekend.

CDM – Emre Can

The German was used in various roles last weekend but he should start as the deepest midfielder for Liverpool against the Terriers.

Emre Can

CM – Georginio Wijnaldum

After missing the previous game with a niggle, Wijnaldum should be pushed back into the starting XI for this game, as he is usually effective in home games.

CM – Philippe Coutinho

With the visitors expected to sit deep, Klopp should push Coutinho into midfield, to add some creativity to the middle of the park.

RW – Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian was on target even at Wembley and will be the danger man to Huddersfield this weekend.

LW – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The summer-buy for Liverpool finally seems to have settled down, after a decent outing against Spurs, and should start on the right flank, giving Liverpool some pace and width in the attack.

ST – Roberto Firmino

Though not at his best recently, Firmino still remains a key part of Liverpool’s plans and is expected to lead the attack, keeping Sturridge on the bench.

Here is how Liverpool might line up:
