Van Persie, Fellaini The Saviors – Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 14 Review

Share

So it was quite an action filled Tuesday and Wednesday with the Fantasy Premier League managers again hitting big with some and searching for points with some others. While Manchester United managed a clean sheet after a long time, Chelsea again stumbled to get all the points with a goalless draw against Fulham. Among the unsuitable news for the managers is the fact that although Stoke won their match against Newcastle, they conceded a goal, thus reducing the points for managers who banked on the Stoke defenders to reward them with some points. As the managers gear up for the weekend action, here are some of the important points that they should take into account.

Form may be temporary, but class is permanent- After two blank gameweeks for Van Persie, finds the net in United’s 1-0 win over West Ham with a measured shot. So, for all the detractors, the man is back scoring a well deserved 9 points. He was again the most captained player and this time his backers found full value for their money. His next fixtures are not very tough either making him a hot favorite to become the captain again. But the fact remains, easy or tough fixture, he is a man of all seasons for his team, for his fans and also for his owners. So, love him or hate him, do not forget to pick him in your Fantasy Premier League team.

Chelsea still not able to find form- Chelsea were once again disappointing at best with not being able to find in net in consecutive matches. Mata was once again dropped from the first team. Hazrad once again returned a blank gameweek, his fourth time in last five matches. But what should worry the Fantasy Premier League managers, who are banking on Chelsea players the most is their inability to find one decent opportunity throughout the match to score. Although, they have a favorable fixtures in the coming gameweeks, managers should have second thoughts to include the Chelsea players in their team.

Fellaini, Bale, Walters for the midfield- Fellaini’s dream run for his club continues as he once again finds the net against Arsenal picking up 10 points. This season he almost looks invincible with a brilliant gameweek every now and then. His price, currently at £7.6m, is also on the ever increasing mode. Bale has also struck gold this season, consistently performing for his side and fetching points for his Fantasy Premier League managers. At 83 points, he is the highest scoring midfielder at the moment and it seems that this trend should be continuing, given his form and the team’s overall playing style around him. So, before he probably moves on different shores in January, here is your last chance to make full utilization of him and score some points. Walters is also doing the same job for Stoke midfield as Bale is doing for Spurs and it was no surprise when he scored against Newcastle and thus achieved 9 points. So, if you want a mid priced midfielder, here is your best option.

Michu scores again, City playing the rotation game- Michu again scores for the Swans in their 3-1 win against West Brom. Thus, although his fixture may not be the most favorable  his knack of scoring goals and his role as the lead striker makes him a good bet for your team in Fantasy Premier League. City are taking the game of rotation to a different level making them a very unpredictable team for the Fantasy Premier League, specially in the forward department. Last week it was Tevez’s and Dzeko’s turn to remain out of the team. Aguero was also not given the full match-time  giving Balotelli the opportunity to start from the first minute. And magnificent he was when he scored City’s first goal in the 69th minute of the match. The only player who has shown promise and has been rotation free is Silva, their main man in midfield and if Fantasy Premier League managers want some City coverage, Silva is the best option they can have.
