Two Transfer Ins and One Transfer Out That Could Help Hull City’s Promotion Chances

Share

Three major transfers that may happen at Hull City this summer

With the new Championship Season not too far away, all the clubs in the division are looking at their respective squads and working out who to sell and who to buy in the summer to make the 2018/19 season a success.

Hull City had an incredibly disappointing season last term as they finished 18th in the Championship table. If not for a good run of form between March and April, they could have found themselves in some serious trouble. The Tigers had a decent squad but their cause was not helped by a major injury to their star striker Abel Hernandez, who was sidelined for the majority of the 2017/18 campaign.

Unfortunately, they will be without Hernandez next season as the Uruguayan has decided to leave the club. Replacing him will be one of the biggest issues for Hull this summer, and here are three moves they should make in the transfer window.

Ins

Nedum Onuoha

This move looks very likely to happen as Hull have actually offered the free agent a contract already, and are just waiting for Onuoha’s decision.

If the move does go ahead then it will be a good signing for Hull as he will bring an abundance of Championship experience to the Tigers’ defence, which conceded a lot of goals last season. He also has the experience of captaining a team at this level which could come in handy for Hull.

Sam Gallagher

Hull may have to look to the loan market to bring in someone of real quality in the summer. And one youngster who they could look to sign is Southampton striker Gallagher, who did well in the Championship last season.

He scored 6 goals in 33 league matches for Birmingham last season. Gallagher could seek another loan move in the summer in search of regular game time next season. If Hull manage to sign the 22-year-old, it would be a good match for all parties involved.

Outs

Harry Wilson

This could potentially fall into either category. The young Liverpool loanee was absolute quality for Hull last season after joining the club in the January transfer window.

He scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists in 13 games for the Tigers. He will be a massive miss for Hull, who should try to bring him on loan once again in the summer.
