Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have had an inconsistent season as they have not been able to win games against the smaller clubs in the league, after getting the better of almost every top club in the country. The manager will be well aware of the issues in his squad and would be planning for life next season. He’d be looking to add some star players to his squad to help them compete at the highest level next season.

They have a chance to qualify for the Champions League and have a favourable fixture list that should see them get home comfortably. But Klopp will still have to work hard to get his top transfer targets to the club, as most of the players on the list are also wanted elsewhere. The Reds have some exciting talents in their armoury but what they lack are established stars who can take the club forward this summer. Klopp will certainly look at players who can settle into the squad in no time but such players are hard to come by. Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk, Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa, Real Madrid duo James Rodriguez and Isco along with RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita have all been linked with a move to Anfield this summer but none of them will come for cheap. So, Klopp will have to break Liverpool’s transfer record this summer to add quality to his first team and help them come back to their previous best.

Ignore All Goalkeeper Rumours

The Reds had a very bad goalkeeping crisis at the start of the season. Klopp spent on Loris Karius as a possible replacement for Simon Mignolet, who stands as the most error-prone goalkeeper in the domestic league in the last couple of seasons. However, the young German has found it hard to adjust to the challenges in England and was replaced by the Belgian not so long later.

Since then, Mignolet has put in some astonishing performances and has shown why he is still the first choice at the club. His efforts in the recent games against Stoke and West Brom show his importance to the squad and if he can keep improving, Liverpool have no goalkeeping problems anymore. Karius will also be in a better state of mind in his second season at Anfield and surely, Liverpool can avoid all transfer rumours linking them with a goalkeeper this summer.
