Transfer Opinion: Can Zlatan Ibrahimovic (If Joined) Make Arsenal Title Contenders Again?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic  To Arsenal?

Arsenal seems like a prominent destination for a few players this time around, the successful defence of the FA Cup combined with the talent at the club has gotten players clambering for a chance to play in the Gunner team. One rumour which has been gathering steam is, wait for it, Zlatan Ibrahimovic moving to Arsenal from PSG.

No, we are not pulling your leg; many London-based reporters have taken up the news of Zlatan wanting to join Arsenal in a deal which would cost the Gunners £11 million. Again, this is not a joke, there are actual reports of this deal taking place, Zlatan might be enchanted to move to London for its lifestyle but would someone swap Paris and the captaincy of PSG for Arsenal?

The impact of the big man

If Arsenal do sign him up, one thing is a guarantee, they will become one of the sides to keep a tab on throughout the season. Zlatan is known for his extraordinary lifestyle and he is never shy when talking to the media. He does have great ability and that is what could actually make this deal work really well.

Arsenal need another world class striker and Zlatan could just be the man for them. The 33-year-old is by no ways past his prime as he has constantly been in the goals for PSG ever since he joined in 2012. He has scored 106 goals in just 126 games which is a great ratio for a striker. Zlatan would certainly boost the goal scoring options at Arsenal but there is more to this than just the Swede signing for Arsenal and everything clicking.

Arsenal already have Olivier Giroud as their first choice striker who has paired up really well with Alexis Sanchez and the team, replacing him with Zlatan wouldn’t make the best sense since Giroud has been with the club for a long time, is younger than Zlatan and seems to be kicking in all gears at Arsenal.

Giroud would not like to sit on the bench and neither would Zlatan, there is very little chance of Arsenal playing with two strikers since they have to shoehorn Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey, who occupy the positions behind the lone striker that Arsenal play with. One thing is a surety, if Arsenal do sign Zlatan that would automatically make them challengers for the title, having someone with the ability of Zlatan playing for them, even if it is from a substitute point of view would be a great coup for the team from London.

Zlatan has scored some amazing goals while at PSG and that could soon happen at London but would Zlatan be too big for a club, that could be something Arsene has to worry about but Gunner fans would be ecstatic with this signing.
