The Sunderland goalkeeper has been the most promising youngster this term and had been an extremely vital presence for the Black Cats until his injury in December.
He may have just kept only 2 clean sheets, but things would have far worse for David Moyes’ side if not for him in goal. The 22-year old has pulled off some sensational saves and has on many occasions kept his team in the game with his stellar displays in the game. Pickford has made 58 saves so far this term, fourth highest in the league and has the best claims success in the box with him succeeding in all his 62 attempts going for the ball in the box.
Pickford’s performances saw him linked with a move to Arsenal amid reports that David Ospina was looking to leave the Emirates. Unfortunately, the injury has somewhat put a roadblock in his progress, but he seems to be on his way to become one of the best goalkeepers in the league in the coming years.
