Top Three Underrated Youngsters In EPL Including Liverpool And Everton Stars

Share

The English Premier League has undoubtedly been representing high level, thanks to the great players. However, footballers like Wayne Rooney, John Terry or Steven Gerrard are not getting any younger and new talents must be discovered to replace the stars. Here is a selection of the top three talented European players in the EPL:

3. Gerard Deulofeu | Everton [on loan from Barcelona]

Gerard Deulofeu

The 19-year-old Spaniard is perhaps the greatest product of La Masia over the past few years. He has been sent to Everton on a loan deal in order to spend minutes on the pitch, rather than remain sidelined on the bench in Tata Martino’s first team or play for the Barcelona B squad. The U20 Spanish international is known for his outstanding dribbling as well as pace skills and is a rather satisfying goal-scorer, having scored two goals in only 12 appearances for the Toffees this season. Still, Deulofeu had played started only one match in the EPL before suffering from a harmstring injury in December. Since then the Spanish starlet has spent time recovering, hoping for a quick return, searching for experience from his performances on the English stadiums. But still media and don’t rate him as much as they do with guys like Januzaj, Gnabry etc…

2. Luke Shaw | Southampton

Luke Shaw

Playing as left-back for Saints is an only 18-year-old footballer, who has already earned big experience and is said to be one of England’s best in his position. Southampton will now have to keep hold of the hot prospect, as Shaw has been linked with a move to bigger clubs, including Manchester United who are looking for Patrice Evra replacement. Ex-Saints talents Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all chosen big money over the club in the past, nevertheless, Shaw has decided on signing a new contract with Southampton. Playing for the England national team during the upcoming World Cup in Brazil would be another great step for the quickly-improving prodigy. His game style is similar to the one represented by Ashley Cole, who not only is an impressive defender, but also enjoys moving forward when in attack. Anyway he is no more can be termed as ‘under-rated’ as many top clubs are already scouting this wonderfully talented player.

1. Jon Flanagan | Liverpool

Liverpool youngster is easily one of the most under-rated players in the premier league. He was introduced by Kenny Dalglish after a consistent pre-season in 2011. He may not have the attacking threat like other top full backs but he make up for that with his nearly excellent defensive abilities, good tackles and presence of mind. He came to spotlight after a stunning display against  Tottenham where he got his first ever goal for the reds. Liverpool won the game 0-5. With the guidance of Rodgers, one can expect to see more of him in coming years. Good luck lad!
