Share

The Premier League is home to some of the top talents in the world, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, Angel Di Maria, Cesc Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez and a whole host of world class players grace the English game. Many a time in a season it isn’t about the established world beaters but the youngsters, who take the league by storm, we all remember Wayne Rooney scoring that goal against Arsenal when he was a teenager, right?

So here we have a list of the top 5 young performers from the Premier League so far.

1. Eden Hazard

Hazard

The Chelsea winger is widely regarded as one of the best attackers in the Premier League today. He has been in the limelight for such a long time that it seems a bit of a weird stat that he is only 23 years old.

Hazard is known for his pace and dribbling ability and has been a threat to defenders throughout the season. He has scored 6 goals in the Premier League and has a couple of assists to boot as well; he certainly is still young and can go a long way if he continues performing this way for Chelsea.

2. Ross Barkley

Ross Barkley

Barkley has missed a good portion of this season due to an injury but that hasn’t stopped him from being one of the best young players in the league. At 21 years old, he still has a lot of time to grow and learn but he already is one of the stars of a very good Everton team under Roberto Martinez.

Barkley is excellent in midfield and is always looking for that killer pass or wants to make those runs into the box and score; he looked at his best against QPR where he scored a goal for the Blues. Everton will be hoping that he stays fit for the rest of the season.

3. Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling

The one Liverpool player who has done decently for the club, Raheem Sterling has grown from strength to strength and even when there were doubts about his form, he put that behind him and put up some great performances.

The 20 year old winger can play down the middle or on the wing and has electric pace, he has scored 3 goals and has 4 assists to his name in the league this season, his performances for Liverpool have meant that the big clubs are vying to seal a deal for him, while Liverpool have relied on him massively this season due to the loss of Suarez and Sturridge.

4. Christian Eriksen

The Danish midfielder might blow hot and cold for club and country but there is no denying his talent. Tottenham certainly signed a player who is bound to get better with time but right now he hasn’t done too shabbily for his club this season.

Eriksen has scored 6 goals and provided an assist in the 16 league games he has played for Spurs. He has also won the man of the match award in 3 games this season and at only 22 years old; he will get better with time, like a fine bottle of wine.

5. Oscar

Oscar Chelsea

It is something of an anomaly to see a couple of Chelsea youngsters in the list but Oscar has been just as good for Chelsea as Eden Hazard. The 23 year old Brazilian might look a little lightweight for the Premier League but his control and quick feet help him to get out of some sticky situations.

With 3 goals and 5 assists in the league this season, Chelsea can expect more from the Brazilian and Oscar will be looking to provide that for the Blues.
