Money Money Money – Top 5 Premier League Transfers Of The Summer So Far

The Premier League broke the £1bn mark on incoming transfers last summer which saw Manchester United spend world record fees on midfielder Paul Pogba. This summer has been no different in England, with Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United spending more than £500m on their recruits this transfer window.

There are a number of other transfers that are set to take the league by a storm next season but what are the best transfers this summer so far? Here are the top 5 transfers of this summer window so far:

Romelu Lukaku (Everton to Manchester United) – £90m

The Belgian international decided to quit Everton this summer after the lack of progress at the Goodison Park and though he was wanted by Chelsea, ended up signing a bumper contract with the Red Devils, that can potentially make him the most expensive player in the history. He is tailor made for Mourinho’s style of play and is expected to be a big hit at Old Trafford next season.

Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid to Chelsea) – £70m

The Spanish attacker was fed up with the lack of chances at Bernabeu and decided to quit the club this summer. Wanted by AC Milan and Manchester United, Morata joined Chelsea and Antonio Conte is convinced that he is the right man to lead the attack for the Blues.

Alexandre Lacazette (AS Lyon to Arsenal) – £52.7m

The French striker has been on the radar of the English club for more than a year now and Arsenal have finally managed to sign him up in what is a record deal for the club. Standing as one of the most prolific goal scorers in Europe at the moment, the 26-year old is a genuine upgrade on the current players at the Emirates and is expected to be the first choice striker for Wenger next season.

Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester City) – £50m

The English full-back was the first choice right-back for Tottenham Hotspur and the English national side but a bust-up with Mauricio Pochettino saw him drop out of the first team late last season, eventually deciding to end his time in London. He was purchased by Manchester City for a record fee that has made him the most expensive defender in the history of the game. He is expected to be the first choice right-back at the Etihad next season.

Mohamed Salah (AS Roma to Liverpool) – £34.3m

The Egyptian international is far from one of the most expensive transfers this summer but surely, he will be one of the most impactful buys of this transfer window. Adding dangerous pace to an already scary attack at Anfield, Salah could also potentially turn into a record deal for Liverpool and is so good a fit for Jurgen Klopp, that he has already become an important player for the club.
