Big money, lots of sponsors and the pretty girls, football has come a long way over the years and most footballers, or at least the players in the top league are treated like superstars. They bring about a passion in us armchair football fans that nothing else can and for that they do deserve some credit.
Playing for a top professional club is not easy but once you get into it, your career is more or less made. Even if you aren’t doing really well on a consistent basis, you will be supported left right and centre, sometimes blindly and this is what often gets the goat for some people. The English international team has often had some of the best players in the world but somehow, a few players are overhyped for no reason and we look at 3 players who aren’t all that they are cracked up to be.
3. Fabian Delph
As soon as the news of Gerrard leaving Liverpool came about, the first thing that people were thinking about was his replacement at Liverpool and for some reason Fabian Delph’s name came ringing out. The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool, but he is not even close to the performances that Gerrard put out regularly when he was Delph’s age. The midfielder does shine but once in 5 games and more often than not against the big teams, maybe that is why people rate him so highly but he really isn’t all that he is cracked up to be.
