Three (Value For Money) Liverpool Players To Pick For FPL This Week

Share

After the excitement of the Champions League and the FA Cup, the Premier League will be back to entertain us yet again this weekend and it is that time of the week when the many managers in the world get their devices out to accumulate the strongest team for the week. Yes, I am talking about the FPL, the one thing that gets the fans closer to their idols on the field. This weekend, there are some interesting matchups between teams at both ends of the table and if done right, it could be a weekend of great impact in the FPL. Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, who are just back from a training session in Spain, will want to back their victory over the Spurs in the previous round with another win, this time at the King Power stadium against a struggling Leicester City. Claudio Ranieri’s side are quickly sliding down the pack and with the European encounter in the midweek also taking its toll, it will be a long night for the Champions. Trying to find some consistency, here are 3 Liverpool players who should find a place in your FPL team for this week:

  1. Sadio Mane (£9.3):

The second most expensive Liverpool player only after Daniel Sturridge, Mane, is now the hottest property in FPL. If you haven’t got him yet, make space quickly. The Senegalese winger misfired against Hull coming back from the AFCON but he came up with a brace in his first start for the club, putting the Spurs to the sword at Anfield. At £9.3, he is a slightly expensive buy but having won 132 points already this season, missing more than a month of action, Mane, remains one of the most profitable and productive option for FPL managers this weekend.

2. Georginio Wijnaldum (£7.5):

The Dutch midfielder had his best game in a Liverpool shirt at Anfield against Spurs and is expected to start in a midfield three alongside Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana. He looks to have adjusted completely to his role at the new club and was showing off at times in the last game. He is high on confidence and coming at just £7.5 and should be a steal. Drinkwater and Ndidi will have a close eye on him but neither player is in great form and will have to do extremely well to stop the Liverpool midfielder.

3. Roberto Firmino (£8.4):

A slightly costlier option but as effective, Firmino, is also one of the inform players for Liverpool. After the disastrous month, Firmino has picked up his game and was superb against the Spurs in the previous game at Anfield. In his last meeting with the champions, the Liverpool forward scored a brace and he will hope to emulate his performance to give Liverpool all three points. The likes of Zlatan, Alexis and Aguero are all unavailable as their games are postponed so Bobby, could be a safe bet for this weekend.
