Three Reasons Why Liverpool Shouldn’t Bring Back This Troubled Youngster To The Premier League As A Luis Suarez Replacement

Share

Even after their successful season, a section of the press are linking Liverpool striker Luis Suarez to Real Madrid for a mega deal. If that does come true, Liverpool would gain immensely from the financial point of view. But they would also have to do the impossible that is replacing Luis Suarez. Suarez has been shining star throughout the season impressing on his own and taking the team close to the Premier League glory.

The team factor which came to play after a long time when players like Henderson, Sterling and Gerrard stepped up. But before that it was all about Suarez and his partnership with Daniel Sturridge. It will be a Herculean task for the management to find an apt replacement of Suarez, but so far they have taken a look at Mario Balotelli or so it has been reported by Daily Star. While many may disagree, here we feel that Balotelli cannot be an able replacement for Suarez and we present three reasons to support our argument.

Difference in class

Balotelli is easily one of the most exciting players of world football right now. He is a bright young prospect who has taken the world football by storm. His displays for Manchester City, AC Milan and his national team Italy have elevated him at par with some of the biggest names of football. But that does not take away the fact that Luis Suarez is one of a kind. He is probably the best striker in the game at the moment and his contribution to Liverpool has been immense. There is definite difference in class and stature between Balotelli and Suarez and it will take some time for Balotelli to rise up to the levels of the Uruguayan goal machine.

Lack of loyalty

Mario Balotelli has so far mainly been guided by his emotions than his senses. It is evident that he cannot settle easily in any club and his lustrous yet brief stints with Inter, City and Milan validates that. Everywhere he starts off with a bang but after a short time he looks to head out of the club in search of greener pastures. So far he has not made more than 59 league appearances for any of the clubs and this is one thing which should worry the Liverpool management. If they are to look for Balotelli’s replacement in the next transfer window, that would be a tragic event for a manager who is trying to take the club as a long term project.

Controversy’s child

If there is one similarity between Mario Balotelli and Luis Suarez then it is the controversies that both the players have been involved in till now. Many were in favour of letting Suarez go last summer because of this reason, before he answered his critics with his performance on the field. Balotelli is of the same genre and he has been involved with off field and on field issues a number of times in his career. If Liverpool have to be in the market for another striker to replace the controversial Suarez, then a certain Balotelli would not offer much relief in this department. Brendan Rodgers, much like he transformed Suarez into a composed striker and managed to get the best out of his football, will have to go through the entire process once again.
