Three Reasons Why Liverpool Should Go All Out And Buy This Super Winger

Share

According to the recent reports by Guardian, Liverpool have been given a major boost in their pursuit of Barcelona star Pedro. With Tata Martino leaving the Camp Nou outfit and new manager Luis Enrique taking charge, Barcelona’s President Josep María Bartomeu has claimed that there will be wholesale changes at the club. There have been major speculations that a mass exodus is set to follow at the club with big names like Javier Mascherano, Cesc Fabregas and Pedro set to leave the Camp Nou in the summer. So today we here at Soccersouls analyze three reasons why Liverpool could pursue their chase for the 26 year old Pedro.

Important for Liverpool to build on the 2013-14 season:

There was no doubt that Brendan Rodgers’ side displayed the best attacking football in the league showing great flexibility and desire to fight for the League title. Given Liverpool’s sole aim was to qualify for the Champions League, the 2013-14 season was surely an overachieving season for the Reds. Rodgers has given a clear indication that he will pursue the best players available in the market as the Merseyside giants would now rub shoulders in the highest echelons of European football in a competition that they have won five times in their history. It would be too tall an order to believe that the Reds would win the Champions League in their first time of asking, where qualifying beyond the group stages will be  a success. Pedro’s acquisition would certainly give a clear message from the Board of Directors that they mean business and are meant for the long haul.

He is available for the right price:

It is believed that Pedro is no longer wanted by the Spanish giants after the winger was surprisingly missing in the club’s promotional photograph unveiling the new home kit for the 2014-15 season. There are strong suggestions that Barcelona might sell the 26 year old for the right price. Liverpool have already been linked to Adam Lallana over the past fortnight but with Southampton playing hardball, the Merseyside club can bid the same amount they tabled for the English International. Pedro will feature with Spain in the World Cup in Brazil and a good performance in Sambaland will sky rocket his price but given his fiscal ramification, the price isn’t beyond the reach of Liverpool.

The winger will fit ceaselessly in Liverpool’s system:

Pedro has enjoyed a good season for Barcelona despite not being guaranteed a starting eleven spot, scoring 16 goals and grabbing 8 assists in 44 appearances. He is a proven goalscorer capable of playing on either flanks and can easily fit into Liverpool’s system if Rodgers decides to play a front three in the attacking third. An attacking triumvirate of Sturridge, Suarez and Pedro would be frightening for any opposition in Europe. Moreover Pedro’s work rate is simply phenomenal and combined with defensive responsibilities and incisive runs, the Spaniard would be a true asset for Liverpool if snapped up in the summer.
