Three Liverpool Youngsters Who Could Make Their Debut Next Season

The summer transfer window is open now and Liverpool have been linked with a lot of players. Liverpool have already signed a few young players in the transfer market. It is that time of the season when the U21s and players from the youth academy are assessed on the basis of their performance last season. Liverpool’s academy has tended to do well with producing young talent for instance, Raheem Sterling, Jordon Ibe, Steven Gerrard, Jon Flanagan and there are many more. Last season, youngsters like Cameron Branagan, Jordan Rossiter and Pedro Chirivella made their first team debuts. And a few youngsters are expected to make their first team debut this season. Here are three players from the youth academy that might make it to the first team this season.

1.) Harry Wilson

Harry Wilson is a typical left winger- who possesses a blistering pace, a great touch, ability and acceleration with the ball at his feet. Harry has been at Liverpool since he was an U-9 player. During the 2013-14 season, Harry featured for the U18s and after that has been a regular player for the U21 team. His performances earned him a call up for international duty and made his debut for Wales at the age of 16 years and 208 days.

Harry was also called up by Brendan Rodgers to feature on the 2015 pre-season tour and showed his talent. Harry Wilson is a creative player and his style of play is perfect for Liverpool. The Wales international has the potential and with Klopp’s liking for young players, he might debut for the first team in the coming season.

2.) Joe Maguire

The English left back has been with Liverpool since a tender age of nine and is a regular member of the U21 squad. Liverpool need a replacement for Alberto Moreno at the left back position and Joe Maguire could be an option. Maguire, a left back with a sweet left foot, has the ability to deliver in perfect crosses in dangerous areas for his teammates to attack. Maguire’s high fitness and stamina levels allow him to motor up and down the wing into positions where he can cause problems for the opposition.

After an excellent 2014-15 season, he was called up by Brendan Rodgers for the 2015 pre-season tour and was very impressive. Liverpool are in need of a left back and if they cannot buy one, Klopp would not hesitate in giving Joe his first taste of the Premier League.

3.) Sergi Canos

Sergi Canos arrived at Liverpool from Barcelona in 2013. The Spanish attacking midfielder spent the majority of his youth team days at Barcelona’s world renowned La Masia Academy, where he developed a keen eye for goal. An attacking player, who can play at the right flank as well as through the middle can initiate attacks and finish them with equal potencial. Sergi made his U21s debut at the start of the 2014-15 season against Manchester United and showed his promise across the campaign. He made a loan move to Championship side Brentford in August 2015 keeping in mind his development and had a very good season, scoring 7 times in 18 appearances. He is the most likely candidate of the three players mentioned to make a debut.

Jurgen Klopp, in his first season at Liverpool has shown that he wants to give young talent a chance and develop Liverpool’s youth team. All these three are future stars at Liverpool and should make their debuts next season.
