The Biggest Reserve Game Took Place On Sunday – Barcelona B Vs Real Madrid Castilla

Share

Did anyone have the time to watch mini-Clasico last Sunday ? The biggest reserve game that will ever happen in the world of football – the future El-Clasico warriors, the future Spanish stars battled it out when Barcelona B side met Real Madrid Castilla in a reserve match.

The starting line-ups

Barcelona B: Masip; Balliu, Lomban, Planas, Grimaldo; Gustavo, Lobato, Rafinha; Araujo, Luis Alberto, Deulofeu.

Real Madrid Castilla: Mejías, Fabinho, Juanfran, Casado, Nacho, Iván G, Alex, Mosquera, Cheryshev, Borja, Morata.

The stand out performers for Barcelona B were Grimaldo the left-back, he has always been top notch fot the Catalans and may very well run down the throat of Jordi Alba for a starting berth in the first team.  Barca B’s top scorer Deulofeu – a left winger scored the third goal of the night to send the home crowd into raptures.

Another impressive starlet was the Brazilian attacking midfielder Rafinha. Though Rafinha had a horrible time out with the Brazilian U-20 team recently, he was quite impressive on Sunday, however he could have contributed to the score line when he was free from his marker during a corner kick in the second half but missed to convert.

For Real Madrid Castilla players like Morata, Cheryshev and Alex were promising. And all the three youngsters have already made their first team debut’s for the Galacticos. Morata scored the only goal manged by Madrid on the night as they were clearly missing their most hyped around Spanish U-19 star Jesé Rodríguez.

The match ended at 3-1 in favour of the Catalans underlining their superiority over their rivals from the grass roots of the game. The first teams are due to meet in the Spanish cup tomorrow and an early taste to the El-Clasico was surely caught on Sunday.
