Terry’s Move To Valencia Are Just Blind Rumors

Share

Reports from UK suggest that former England Captain John Terry could leave Chelsea and join Spanish club Valencia in the January transfer window. It all started when Daily Mirror reported that the defender, who is serving his four match ban for racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand wants to move out of the country and Valencia have offered him the way out of England.

An agent named Francois Gallardo, supposedly a  a ‘FIFA-registered’ agent who has come out and claimed that John Terry is plotting a move away from Chelsea and that he is the third party between the negotiations between the player and the Spanish club.

Gallardo told Radio Intereconomia: “Valencia are negotiating, and I am involved in person, with the signing in the winter transfer market. The offer is on his table. The player is out of contract in June and will not renew there for several reasons at Chelsea and he wants to come to Spain. Gallardo added: Terry has problems. They are insulting him and he is not taking it anymore. He asked to leave, not us. It’s real. This has been going on for 15 days and two meetings have already taken place. The deal is already on his table – a year and a half plus one. I think he will accept.”

First thing, sometimes there are rumors which are exciting to hear, and sometimes there are rumors which are hard to believe and sometime there are rumors like this. Is the Chelsea legend about to leave Stamford bridge because of his situation involving racial abuses ?

Being a FIFA-registered agent does not mean he has the authenticity to come out in public and announce such a drastic rumor.  FIFA has clearly mentioned that “Players’ agents have not been licensed by FIFA since 2001. Players’ agents are licensed directly by each association. Therefore, there is no such thing as a FIFA players’ agent.” This clearly puts a dent in the crediblity of the so called FIFA agent.

Even if we somehow, take in the fact that this rumor could be true, it’s difficult to see for a club like Valencia suddenly scrambling to get their hands on a player in a position where they already have reasonable depth, and especially a player like John Terry, whose wages are on a different scale than that of the Valencia players.

As for Terry, there are no news from the player so far and by the time the news skyrockets the transfer columns of all the blogs, one would expect the denial from his camp suggesting that the defender is going nowhere. TRANSFER RUMORS – THAT’S HOW IT WORKS.

It is safe to say that Terry isn’t leaving Chelsea anytime sooner, one of the most loyal, determined and devoted football players in existence, leaving a club like Chelsea to join a mediocre club like Valencia in a two-sided league where two teams battle it out for all the major honors and the rest struggle to keep their heads above the water.
