According to a report by the Scottish Sun, Swansea City are interested in signing Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones.
The 24-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season, meaning he will be free to talk to clubs outside Scotland in January.
And as a result, the Championship outfit are keen on making a move for Jones. But should the Swans make a move for the attacker, especially since they have the chance to sign him for free?
The winter window is a tricky time to indulge in the transfer business. In fact, it is a make-or-break situation for teams that fail to sign adequate players in the summer, who would be in need of that one life-changing signing who could go on and cover them in glory.

And Jones certainly has the calibre to do just that. Having played for Middlesbrough earlier in his career, it is safe to suggest that he has experienced the taste of English football. Furthermore, with Luciano Narsingh’s injury troubles and lack of form, Swansea would take a step in the right direction by signing Jones.
Oli McBurnie has done a stellar job of leading the line for Swansea so far this season and his contribution is more than just goals. However, securing an added firepower would certainly provide Potter with more options in the final third.
The likes of Wayne Routledge and Nathan Dyer have not played much this season. Hence, Swansea must consider offloading a few of their deadwood and make a move for Jones.
One might argue that Jones hasn’t really excelled for Kilmarnock this season. He is yet to score a single goal but his talent is undeniable.
Also, since he has played in England before, it would be easier for him to adapt to life under Potter in the Championship.
Having another source of goals on the wings would add some much-needed boost to Swansea’s hopes of promotion to the top-flight.
