Superb Robertson, Brilliant Shaqiri – Here’s how the Liverpool stars performed in the 2-0 win vs Fulham

Liverpool Player Ratings vs Fulham: Here’s how the Reds fared

Liverpool continued their supreme form at home by picking up a 2-0 win against Fulham earlier in the day. The Cottagers rarely tested the Reds with the game being dominated by Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool under unusual circumstances. Aleksandar Mitrovic’s goal was ruled offside after which Alisson Becker quickly distributed the ball to Trent Alexander-Arnold who teed in the Egyptian on goal.

Xherdan Shaqiri then scored a second off a superb cross from Andrew Robertson from the left flank. The Swiss international has made an immense impact since making the move from Stoke City in the summer. It was another routine win for Klopp’s men as they move to second place on the table.

Liverpool Player Ratings

Alisson Becker (7/10)

Made one or two good saves but was otherwise largely untested. The Brazilian did well to quickly provide the ball to Alexander-Arnold, with the move resulting in their opening goal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (7/10)

Made a shaky start to the game but slowly grew into it. He picked up the assist for the first goal and looked a constant threat.

Virgil Van Dijk (8/10)

It doesn’t seem as though the Dutchman ever has a bad game. Was confident and commanding in both halves and he kept Mitrovic at bay.

Joe Gomez (7/10)

Gomez was slightly troubled by Mitrovic’s strength and picked up a yellow card in the process. He was otherwise fruitful and intelligent on the ball.

Andrew Robertson (9/10)

Easily the man of the match on the night. Sent in a superb cross for Xherdan Shaqiri’s goal and dealt with everything that came his way.

Xherdan Shaqiri (8/10)

He’s looked a completely different player since making the move this summer. His incisive passing always poses all sorts of problems. Did well to tuck home his second goal at Anfield.

Fabinho (6/10)

Made a slow start to the game and then seemed to do well for a while before his performance dropped once again. Was slightly slow in reacting to some situations.

Georginio Wijnaldum (5/10)

Except for playing out a few routine passes, he was anonymous once again. The Dutchman looks like he could use a rest.

Mohamed Salah (7/10)

Had many chances to shut out the game but ultimately scored one as he always does at Anfield. It’s almost inevitable when Salah plays in front of the Kop.

Mohamed Salah

Roberto Firmino (6/10)

Barely managed to threaten but linked up well in the final third.

Sadio Mane (6/10)

One of those games where Mane suddenly goes quiet. Apart from drawing a good save from Sergio Rico, he didn’t do much.

Substitutes

Jordan Henderson (5/10)

Came on and swiftly distributed the ball in the middle of the park. His passing in the final third seemed slightly off though.

James Milner (5/10)

Didn’t have much to do apart from seeing out the win.
