After registering their first win under their new manager Jurgen Klopp in he League Cup, Liverpool will travel to London to take on the struggling defending Champions Chelsea in a match that could be a crucial one Klopp’s opposite number Jose Mourinho. How will the Reds line-up to face Chelsea? Here is their likely line-up.

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet

Belgian International Simon Mignolet has won Klopp’s confidence and he will be the Reds’ goalkeeper for the clash against Chelsea.

Defenders: Nathaniel Clyne, Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Alberto Moreno

Mamadou Sakho

Fresh from scoring a goal, new signing Nathaniel Clyne will play as the right-back while Spanish defender Alberto Moreno will play on the left. Kolo Toure is ruled out of the match due to an injury and it is certain that French International Mamadou Sakho and Martin Skrtel will be the two central defenders.

Midfielders: James Milner, Emre Can, Lucas Leiva, Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana

Philippe Coutinho

German star Emre Can won’t be playing in the defence like he did under Brendan Rodgers, but he will be Liverpool’s holding midfielder alongside England’s James Milner and Brazilian Lucas Leiva, who is on a terrific form since the arrival of Klopp. In the absence of Jordan Henderson, Milner will captain the side. New signing Roberto Firmino is back from injury and looked threatening in the League Cup game and is likely to start against the Blues on Saturday. England’s Adam Lallana, who has impressed Klopp so far, will be the other attacking option while out-of-form Philippe Coutinho might be the one who will face the axe.

Forward: Christian Benteke

Christian Benteke

Daniel Sturridge is yet to recover from injury and he is ruled out of the squad to face his former side. Belgian forward Christian Benteke is back from injury and is certain to start against Chelsea on Saturday ahead of his countryman Divock Origi. Benteke is expected to give some hard time for the struggling Chelsea defence.
