Defensive Midfield: Nemanja Matic
He has been one of Chelsea’s best performers this season. He has been extremely consistent in his displays and offers great stability and power to Chelsea’s midfield. He is widely regarded has the best defensive midfielder in the Premier League.
Central Midfield: Cesc Fabregas
Matic will be partnered in the double pivot by Fabregas who was rested during the international break so as to return in time for the Premier League action. Fabregas has been in top form this season, already assisting 9 goals in the league.
Central Attacking Midfield: Oscar
Oscar has been in great form this season, with his consistent displays. He adds flair, technique and industry in attacking midfield and engineers the box to box functions that the team requires. He is versatile as well, meaning he can adjust to playing deeper or wider.
Right Midfield: Willian
Brazilian Willian is likely to start at Right Midfield as Schurrle is re-building his fitness and would most likely be sitting this game out or play as a substitute. Willian has not been consistent with his attacking displays though defensively, he has been a top runner.
Left Midfield: Eden Hazard
The Belgian attacker is certain to start the game. He has been a great influence to Chelsea’s attack this season as he has the knack to create chances from scratch with his unbelievable dribbling and trickery. One would want the star to be clinical in his finishing as he has been missing some easy chances in the past few games, which if accomplished, can make him one of the most complete attackers in the world.
Striker: Diego Costa
After a well deserved rest during the international break, the aggressive Chelsea striker would be hungrier for more goals. He already has 10 in the league, 2 behind leader Aguero. That should be some motivation for personal glory as Chelsea fans would expect Costa to be at his lethal best.
