West Brom have been a team that have troubled Chelsea in the past, and in the tricky November month, Chelsea would have to ensure that they maintain the tempo of their campaign and register a comfortable win against average Premier League teams like West Brom. Almost all Chelsea players have been well rested despite their international involvement and would be expected to be at their best when they meet the visitors. Goalkeeper and Defence
Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois
As has been the trend, the young Belgian has been the consistent first choice and would be expected to continue in his role.
Right Back: Branislav Ivanovic
Ivanovic has been a key component of Chelsea’s defence and has been an important player offensively as well, as he has two goals to his name. He has been playing well in Chelsea’s consistent attacking style and would be expected to deal with the directness of West Brom players.
Center Back: Gary Cahill
Cahill is certain to start as he has been one of Chelsea’s most important players since last season. His partnership with John Terry has been strong and would have to negate the threat offered by Berahino and Sessegnon.
Center Back: John Terry
The skipper would be raring to go after a well deserved break. Despite his age and lack of speed, Terry has been a vital defensive player with his game reading and organizing skills.
Left Back: Cesar Azpilicueta
The industrious Spaniard is likely to start instead of Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis. This is a position where there are two top defenders available for selection. Since Azpilicueta has been the first choice since last season’s successful defensive displays, he is the natural first choice this season.
