Strongest Celtic Lineup To Face Hamilton Academical: Griffiths To Spearhead The Attack

Share

Celtic will look to continue their great league form as they host Hamilton Academical on Saturday. There are a few concerns regarding the state of the pitch at Celtic Park due to adverse weather conditions. Celtic though will be hopeful of a better performance at home compared to the last league game against Kilmarnock which ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

Leigh Griffiths – Celtic

Pressure has been mounting on manager Ronny Deila, they club should win the Scottish Premiership, no doubts about that but their performances in Europe have been poor and the loss at home against Ajax saw them exit the Europa League. The midfield pairing of Scott Brown and Charlie Mulgrew would be missing out on the game and the club have suspended Anthony Stokes for his rather unneeded tweet when he didn’t get to play for the club.

We look ahead to the clash and predict the starting lineup for the Hoops.

Craig Gordon

The Scottish goalkeeper should keep his place in the starting XI; no one can replace him at the moment.

Mikael Lustig

Lustig should keep his place as the right-back for Celtic as they look to keep ahead of the pack at Celtic Park.

Jozo Simunovic

The central defender might have only made three appearances this season, but he is showing signs that he is the right man at the heart of the defence after that horror showing against Ajax and could keep his place in the team.

Dedryck Boyata

Boyata should partner Jozo in the heart of the defence and the Belgian will be looking to provide another strong performance.

Kieran Tierney

The left-back has been able to keep Izaguirre out of the team and another solid performance down the left could well cement his position this season.

Scott Allan

The Scottish player impressed in the last game against Inverness and could start for the Bhoys against Hamilton.

Nir Bitton

Bitton will be the defensive midfielder who will be out to stop the opposition and hopefully he can have another decent game for Celtic.

Stuart Armstrong

The 23-year-old should continue in his role down the midfield and hopefully he can put in a great performance on Saturday.

Tom Rogic

The Australian has four goals to his name this season and could well be looking to get on the score sheet this week as well.

Carlton Cole

The former West Ham striker had a hand in the third goal in the last game and he could get a start in this home game.

Leigh Griffiths

The man who blamed his finishing for their loss to Ajax in the Europa League should keep his place in the team. Griffiths scored against Inverness and will be hopeful of scoring against Hamilton as well.
