The Stoke Sentinel has reported that Bournemouth are very keen on making a move for Jack Butland, with the Cherries offering Stoke City Asmir Begovic in return.
At the moment, the Cherries have just Begovic and Boruc at their disposal, with neither cementing their spot. For Stoke City, however, losing Jack Butland will leave an even big void in their goal, with the 26-year-old missing just one game so far this season.
Butland has kept 17 clean sheets, which puts his among the top five goalkeepers in the Championship. It is one of the reasons why Stoke City are hanging on in the second tier.
Losing him will be a big issue, especially given the fact that the 26-year-old is a Premier League calibre goalkeeper, playing in the Championship. However, Bournemouth are offering them a way out via Asmir Begovic.
The 31-year-old has struggled this season, even falling out with manager Eddie Howe at the start of the year (Sky Sports). Since mid-January, the former Stoke City goalkeeper has only made two appearances for the club, conceding five goals in the process.
Howe has opted to use the experienced Artur Boruc, but the 39-year-old cannot play every game for the club. For both sides, a potential swap deal would work wonders, especially since Begovic has previously played at Stoke City.
The 31-year-old spent five years with the Potters after joining from Portsmouth in the winter of 2010, before his move to Chelsea in 2015. During that period, Begovic played a big part in Stoke City’s rise, as an upper mid-table side.
He would make 173 appearances for the club, which is why Chelsea opted to make a move for him, with Begovic playing back-up to Thibaut Courtois. Bournemouth eventually came calling, and Begovic has spent a little over a year and a half with the Cherries, struggling this season.
A move would do him good, and a return to Stoke City would be perfect.

The fact that Bournemouth are offering Asmir Begovic as part of a swap-deal should entice the Potters and they should accept this move without hesitation.
