Predicted Arsenal Lineup To Face Everton
London outfit Arsenal are still the outsiders to the qualify for the Champions Leauge even after 4 consecutive league victories, as they are a point below Liverpool in 4th, with just a game left to play this season. While the Reds play Middlesbrough, an already relegated side, Arsenal will welcome Ronald Koeman’s Everton, who are fresh from a victory over Watford.
The Blues have been sporadic this season but are more than capable of taking a result from this game and Wenger’s side will have to be careful if they want to take the qualification down to the wire. The hosts are expected to go for the kill.
Team News
Santi Cazorla remains the only long-term injury for Arsenal. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is nursing an injury he picked up recently while Laurent Koscielny missed the previous game and might not yet be back in action alongside Aaron Ramsey, who could also miss this tie, to try and be fit for the FA Cup finals.
Probable Arsenal XI:
Formation: 3-4-3
Manager: Arsene Wenger
GK – Petr Cech
Was excellent in the midweek against Sunderland and will hope to have a similar game this weekend.
CB – Rob Holding
The youngster has stepped up well in the absence of first team stars and has cemented a place in the side under Arsene Wenger.
CB – Shkodran Mustafi
The German defender has played at the heart of the back three for Arsenal to good effect and should end the league in that position.
CB – Nacho Monreal
Had a brain freeze moment in the previous game but should keep it behind him to come out all guns blazing against Everton.
RWB – Hector Bellerin
With ‘the Ox’ still not completely fit, Bellerin should take his place on the right-hand side as a wing-back.
CM – Granit Xhaka
The Swiss international has found some sizzling form recently and will be a dangerous man for Everton to deal with, even from a deeper role.
CM – Francis Coquelin
The injury to Ramsey should see Wenger stick with Coquelin for this tie against the Toffees.
LWB – Kieran Gibbs
With Monreal playing as a centre-back, Gibbs remains the only choice for Arsene Wenger at the left-wing back position.
RW – Mesut Ozil
The German picked up an assist in the previous game but will hope to have a better overall impact on this final game of the season.
LW – Alexis Sanchez
Sanchez saved Arsenal yet again, against Sunderland in the midweek, with a second half brace that won them three crucial points. He will have to play a similar role yet again.
ST – Olivier Giroud
Though not productive in the last few games, Giroud adds some dynamism to Arsenal’s attack and he should act as the target man for Arsenal in this tie.
