It surely holds true that not all players end up becoming managers, once their career is over. Some stay with the game and share their expertise as a pundit, while some do various other things related to the beautiful game. Also, social media followers that a footballer builds up over his career can provide a lifetime of income to them.
According to a report by Spanish newspaper AS in their Friday edition, some valuable information was provided from advertising agency Opendorse, as they made a list of what different players could be expected to earn for sending out sponsored tweets.
The headline figure for a single Tweet was for former Manchester United man Cristiano Ronaldo, who could earn €230,366 per tweet as he has around 38 Million followers.
The highest paid Premier League footballer on the list was United forward and England skipper Wayne Rooney, who could make a commercial worth of €60,776.
Next in line would be Arsenal superstar Mesut Ozil, with his Tweets making as much as €45,071 each.
Just a few Tweets a week and they would make something close to their salaries that they are already earning at the moment, which is quite a remarkable stat.
