Chelsea Defender Branislav Ivanovic is set to leave the Stamford Bridge in the summer. The defender may move to Roma after the Chelsea representatives made the Italian Club aware of the player’s availability in a secret meeting arranged to discuss Belgian player Radja Nainggolan, who is Chelsea’s priority transfer target this season.
Roma’s Sporting Director Walter Sabatini met with his counterpart in Chelsea in order to start negotiations for Belgian international and discuss a deal for the same. Reports suggest that Chelsea bosses will be using the Veteran player’s move to Roma as an additional weight to smoothen things out for Nainggolan’s transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Ivanovic joined the Blues in 2008 and as of now he still has a year remaining in his contract in the Stamford Bridge. The player has been with Chelsea for over 7 years, however, this season saw his form dip and according to Corriere Dello Sport, the player too is tempted to move to Roma.
