Shock Transfer? Liverpool Midfielder Linked With A Serie A Switch (Not Lucas)

The Italian giants are reportedly interested in bringing the services of Reds’ midfielder Emre Can to the Serie A. Italian newspaper Tutto Mercato further claims that the Germany international is not content with being a backup option at Anfield, with Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum are preferred by klopp as the starting trio in the middle of the park.

Sky Sports have stated, “Juventus are eyeing a move for Liverpool midfielder Emre Can. Juve are ready to move for Can in the summer and are hopeful the [promise] of regular game-time could lure him to Turin”.

Can has just 18 months left on his Liverpool contract and Italian reports state that Juventus are interested in bringing the midfielder to Serie A. Juventus signed Tomas Rincon from Genoa earlier this month so the report suggests a summer bid for Can is more likely.

However, the Italian champions are said to be tracking Can and have made him a “main target.”

Since joining the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014, Can has largely impressed, and he featured in a variety of different positions for former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers. Though with inaccurate long balls, stupid back heels, or being painfully slow in possession, Can has arguably become the club’s most frustrating player, and these things are exacerbated by a fatal dearth of game intelligence.

An Italian newspaper added, “Can is not satisfied with how Jurgen Klopp is dealing with him during the ongoing season, being mainly a substitute for Henderson and Wijnaldum, and might be tempted to join Juve”

As far as links and rumors go, it’s not perhaps one for Liverpool fans to get themselves overly concerned about. It is, to put it mildly, a very tenuous link. And even if it wasn’t, one would have to consider Serie A’s inability to compete with England on wages and that Can is already earning a £55k per week at Liverpool. But the lack of game-time could force Can to leave the Merseyside outfit.
