Aaron Ramsey
This suggestion may be a bit left field, but there are going to be times when Arsenal don’t need a right back to defend. They need somebody with attacking instincts that will give them a good option going forward.
Ramsey at times during his Arsenal career has selflessly filled in at numerous positions – including right back. And he has regularly been played on the right of midfield by Wenger who seems to like him out wide.
He is currently struggling to break into the starting line-up, and this is a switch that Wenger could consider in certain games to add an extra player of quality into his line-up.
Play three at the back
Three at the back is the formation that is currently in vogue after being deployed to great success with Chelsea, West Ham, and even Tottenham in their 1-1 North London derby draw.
Whilst you still need a right sided player in this formation, it would perhaps suit somebody like Ramsey whocan do the work up and down the wing, but focus more on attacking.
However, it must be remembered that this is Arsene Wenger we are talking about, and he has shown little interest in deviating from how he likes his teams to set up.
