Scout Report: Find Out Why Arsenal And Chelsea Are Fighting For This La Masia Star

Munir El Haddadi: Scout Report

Barcelona are known for their great academy set up and another player has been chomping at the bit to get a chance to play for the senior side regularly. Munir El Haddadi has played for the first team last season but was sent back to the B team to hone his skills.

It seems he might be the target of one or two big English sides. The 19-year-old might be available for a move to the Premier League if the terms and conditions are right. Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in signing the player and certainly moving to Arsenal could be a great move for the youngster as he tries to break into the first team.

Munir El Haddadi: A Spanish star on the rise!

He was initially signed by another big Spanish club to play in their squad, Atletico Madrid, and his appearances and ability to do well saw him move to the Barcelona academy La Masia, although he didn’t really play many games for Barcelona B, but he did start for the first 4 games of Barcelona last season around, he was then sent back to the B team to gain more experience as Luis Suarez returned to the side after the end of his long suspension which he picked up at the World Cup.

Munir plays in an attacking role on either wing though he is left footed, he is known to cut in and then have a pop at goal. He does have great pace and acceleration while gifted with a good natural technique and ability which lets him have great control of the ball. His pace lets him have the ability to play off the shoulder of the last defender, plus he can pick out a player with a pass as well. His short passing range is great as well but his long passes are a little off and he does need to work on that.

The La Masia star does have a few places to work in hopes of improving his game play; he doesn’t have the greatest shot accuracy as it seems that nerves get to him in front of goal. Another issue with his game is that he does not have the best passing accuracy and often does lose the ball in trying to make things happen in the final third. Munir doesn’t have the biggest frame either and can get bullied off the ball rather easily; this was also evident in the few games he played in La Liga for Barcelona.

A little bit of work on his decision making if he can bulk up or use his speed against the physical defenders and Munir could well be the next great player who comes out from La Masia that we keep talking about for ages.
