Opinion: Why This Super English Pair Would Be Great For Manchester United

Manchester United are in the mood to make a few big signings this season. While they are in a tussle with David De Gea and his future at the club, they are also in the race to sign Sergio Ramos, at least that is what the papers say.

United though have been looking to make a raid within England as well, they could be looking to their old friends Tottenham as they want to sign their latest star player. Like United had previously signed Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov from Spurs, Harry Kane is the next player on that list. The England striker had a wonderful campaign with Spurs and in his first full season for Spurs, he scored 31 goals in 51 games.

The deal might cost United in the region of £40 million and if it does go through, this would certainly help United become a lethal attacking force, once again. Last season Wayne Rooney was the only striker capable, or at least he looked capable of being able to score goals. Robin Van Persie and Radamel Falcao looked out of sorts and both players have now left the club.

Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney would bring fear into most defenders. Both players are known for their tremendous work rate, Kane does move away from his central role and is capable of either playing as the lone striker or in a two-man attack. This would help Wayne Rooney play a more free role as he drifts around Kane.

Kane also isn’t scared of doing some of the hard work, he loves to pressurize defenders and is known to pick up the ball from deeper positions and playing in other players. This could be perfect for Rooney and Kane as they interchange their roles throughout the game. Kane is also someone who likes to put in a tackle or two and is known to make life difficult for defenders.

Rooney and Kane are somewhat similar kind of players, both have great finishing ability, but Kane seems to be more of a proper English forward. There is no flair or skillset that Kane possesses; he is just a proper striker who will score you a ton of goals if the right kind of service is provided to him. Wayne Rooney can be that man for Kane; Rooney did play a deeper role last season before being reverted to his preferred striker’s position.

The two would not only be great at the same club but would help England also. Kane is a player for the future but if Manchester United sign him up from Tottenham, he could help England’s future get brighter as well.
