Sarri to make 3 changes: Strongest 4-3-3 Chelsea line-up to face Newcastle United

Predicted Chelsea line-up to face Newcastle United in the Premier League

Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea bagged three valuable points at Stamford Bridge with a 3-2 victory over Arsenal last weekend, ringing in their second consecutive win of the season.

Pedro registered his second goal of the season to give the Blues an early lead as he slotted home Marcos Alonso’s perfectly measured cross before Alvaro Morata doubled the lead.

Arsenal fought back with two quickfire goals from Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan but Alonso had the final say as he tucked in Eden Hazard’s cross eight minutes from time to provide Chelsea with a much needed 3-2 victory.

Sarri’s men next face Newcastle United at St.James’s Park on Sunday. The Magpies must aim to get back to winning ways after a 2-1 defeat to Spurs but Chelsea should continue their good run.

Team News

Cesc Fabregas is still recovering from his knee injury. Apart from that, Chelsea are free from other injuries and suspensions and Sarri has his full squad of players to choose from.

Predicted Chelsea XI to face Newcastle United

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Maurizio Sarri

Kepa Arrizabalaga (GK)

The Spaniard was not at his best during the game against Arsenal and he could have done more to prevent the opposition from scoring. However, he looked confident in the second half and Sarri should continue with his new signing as the No.1.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Cesar Azpilicueta (RB)

Although the Spanish right-back can be partly blamed for Arsenal’s second goal, he looked quite composed at the back for Chelsea. He also set up Morata for the second goal with a long ball. Hence, he must retain his position in the line-up.

Antonio Rudiger (CB)

The German international has looked shaky and vulnerable at the back but with David Luiz struggling as well, Sarri must start Rudiger.

Andreas Christensen (CB)

It is high time for Christensen to make his first start of the season.

Marcos Alonso (LB)

Marcos Alonso had a fantastic game against Arsenal and is expected to retain his position in the team.

N’Golo Kante

N’Golo Kante (CDM)

Kante not only helps the attackers but also remains proactive when Chelsea lose possession. He is an indispensable starter for Chelsea.

Jorginho (LCM)

The Italian showed some fine touches and kept the midfield ticking with his good range of passing. He dictated the midfield with his elegance and should definitely start against Newcastle.

Mateo Kovacic (RCM)

After a promising cameo against Arsenal, Sarri should hand him his first start of the season ahead of Ross Barkley.

Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard (LW)

The talismanic attacker should start instead of Willian for this one.

Pedro (RW)

The former Barcelona man has looked great lately and his movement in the final third will be key against Newcastle.

Alvaro Morata (ST)

After ending his goal-drought against Arsenal, Morata should receive a chance to start against the Magpies.
