Sane And De Bruyne To Start – Strongest 4-1-3-2 Manchester City Line-Up To Face Crystal Palace

Predicted Manchester City Line-up To Face Crystal Palace In The Premier League

Manchester City will look to further strengthen their position at the top of the Premier League table, when they welcome bottom feeders Crystal Palace to the Etihad Stadium, on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been the team to beat this season, putting on some swashbuckling displays one after the other in the league. Last weekend they brutally thrashed Watford FC 6-0, before winning 2-1 against West Bromwich Albion in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. The manager will be hoping that his team continues its good form.

Team News

Ilkay Gundogan, who returned from injury only recently, picked up another injury on Wednesday night and is set to miss out. Captain Vincent Kompany too is likely to be unavailable due to a calf injury.

Here’s how the Citizens could line up against the Eagles on Saturday:

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Formation: 4-1-3-2

Ederson Moraes (GK)

The Brazilian was not a part of the team that played West Brom on Wednesday, but should return to the line-up, with Claudio Bravo set to drop out.

Ederson Moraes

Kyle Walker (RB)

The Englishman is another player who didn’t start in the cup tie, but should come back into the team for Saturday’s contest.

John Stones (CB)

The former Evertonian is finally proving his worth this term and has put in some very good displays so far. Should start in the heart of the defence.

Nicolas Otamendi (CB)

The Argentine has looked solid at the back so far and having been left out of the midweek game, should return to the side.

John Stones

Benjamin Mendy (LB)

Has hit the ground running since his arrival from AS Monaco in the summer. Should be reinstated at left-back for Saturday’s game.

Fernandinho (DM)

The Brazilian goes about his job in the holding midfied role with minimum fuss and is a key player in Guardiola’s setup. Definite starter.

Kevin De Bruyne (RW)

The Belgian international has hit a purple patch and is looking unstoppable at the moment. Might find himself stationed out on the right-hand side.

David Silva (CAM)

De Bruyne’s partner-in-crime, Silva is City’s chief string-puller and should return to the playing XI on Saturday.

Leroy Sane

Leroy Sane (LW)

The German youngster is in sensational form and scored two very good goals on Wednesday night. Should be retained in the line-up, on the left flank.

Gabriel Jesus (ST)

5 goals in 7 games already this season, the Brazilian is a serious menace at the top. Has started all the games in every competition. Unlikely that the streak will be broken this weekend.

Sergio Aguero (ST)

The Argentine talisman scored a brilliant hat-trick last weekend and was rested for the midweek game. Aguero is just two goals behind Manchester City’s leading goal-scorer Eric Brooks (177) and he certainly is going to break that record this weekend, isn’t he?
