Sadio Mane Ruled Out: Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool Line-Up To Face Bournemouth

Share
Liverpool Will Be Hoping To Keep Their Winning Form Going Against Bournemouth

After winning the Merseyside Derby quite comfortably against Everton on Saturday afternoon, Liverpool will look to continue in their hot form when they welcome Bournemouth to the Anfield on Wednesday night.

The Reds find themselves in the third position in the Premier League standings as Manchester City dropped points against Arsenal on Sunday and will look to build a further hold on the spot, with City facing leaders Chelsea in the midweek round of fixtures. The last time the two teams met, back in December last year, Liverpool were subjected to a 4-3 defeat by the Cherries and Jurgen Klopp will be keen to avoid a similar result on Wednesday.

Team News

Liverpool have been dealt a blow as their talismanic attacker Sadio Mane injured himself against Everton and could very well miss the game against Bournemouth on Wednesday. Adam Lallana will also miss out due to a thigh injury. Jordan Henderson is also a slight doubt owing to his foot problem while Daniel Sturridge may well be in line for a return to the matchday squad after training with the rehab team over the weekend.

Here is how Liverpool could line up on Wednesday:

Probable Liverpool Line-Up

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Formation: 4-3-3

Simon Mignolet (GK)

The Belgian has become the first-choice between the sticks after a brief time of playing second fiddle to Loris Karius. He will start the game in goal for Liverpool.

Nathaniel Clyne (RB)

At right-back it will be Nathaniel Clyne. The Englishman has been a key player for Liverpool this term and his forward forays will be more important on Wednesday with Mane unlikely to feature.

Joel Matip (CB)

In the heart of the defence, we will see Joel Matip continue in the line-up. The Cameroonian has been a mainstay at the back for the Reds and provides a calming influence to the backline.

Dejan Lovren (CB)

Alongside Matip, it will be Dejan Lovren. The Croatian returned from injury against Everton and did a fine job going up against Romelu Lukaku. Expect more of the same against the Cherries.

James Milner (LB)

Completing the line-up will be James Milner at left-back. The veteran midfielder has been brilliant throughout the course of the season and will look to put in another impressive display in the midweek.

Lucas Leiva (DM)

At the base of the midfield, it will be Brazilian Lucas Leiva, who will continue to deputize for the unavailable Jordan Henderson.

Emre Can (CM)

Ahead of Leiva, it will be 23-year old Emre Can who will occupy one of the two midfield spots. The German has had a resurgence of sorts in the past weeks and is finally looking like the player he was touted to be.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

And partnering Can in the middle will be Georginio Wijnaldum. The Dutchman has been one of the stars of the season for the Reds and is a certain starter when available.

Roberto Firmino (RW)

On the right-flank, we could be in for a change as Sadio Mane may miss out with the knee injury that he picked up against Everton. That would mean Roberto Firmino will be shunted out wide on the right against the Cherries.

Divock Origi (ST)

And with Firmino shifting out on the right-wing, that opens up a space for Divock Origi through the middle. The Belgian made a serious impact upon coming on against Everton, scoring the third goal and will look to continue in the same vein from the get-go on Wednesday.

Philippe Coutinho (LW)

On the left-flank it will be Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian international looked like he was back to his best against Everton on the weekend and he will look to build on that display.
