An entertaining clash between Spurs and the Red Devils ended two a piece at a vociferous White Hart Lane in the early kickoff game on Sunday. While Kyle Walker opened the scoring for the home side, he turned from hero to villain in a matter of minutes as he poked the ball into Rooney’s path, who slotted in the equaliser. However the moment of the match came when Tottenham midfielder Sandro’s outrageous effort gave the home side a slender lead but United were back level after Rooney again converted from the spot after Welbeck was brought down by Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
David De Gea: Was caught out twice on both occasions. The first one was a thundering Kyle Walker strike while the second strike from Sandro couldn’t have been saved even if there were two goalkeepers under the stick.

Chris Smalling: Yet another disappointing performance from the Englishman who had huge problems dealing with Spurs’ attack on the flanks.

Nemanja Vidic: A performance which shows Vidic is well past his sell by date. Was caught out by sheer pace late into the second half by a Jermain Defoe burst. Certainly needs to up the game, if United have to be assured come into the second half of the campaign.

Jonny Evans: Though he did give away the foul which led to Kyle Walker’s opening gaol, Evans was quite solid at the back compared to other of his defensive partners.

Patrice Evra: Should have been sent off in the first half itself, was lucky to avoid two yellow cards. The Frenchman had a woeful performance which shows signs that David Moyes is perhaps right to search for a left back come this January transfer window.

Anton Valencia: Did play well throughout, had that attacking flair from the right and was a constant threat. The former Wigan wan also showed bursts of pace why shows shy exactly Moyes preferred to use him on the right.

Tom Cleverley: Did little right on a day where United failed to dominate the midfield battle. Like Vidic he needs to improve in the coming matches. Probably the flop of the match award goes to England International.

Phil Jones: Was solid in midfield, did his job overall. However, placed a lot of miss-passes and provided very little moving forward. As I would put he was quite confused about the role deployed to him.

Shinji Kagawa: The former Dortmund man would have been looking forward to have a better game. Kagawa though would love to have provided more going forward and helping the two strikers up front.

Danny Welbeck: Playing on the left flank, Welbeck did very little throughout the match. Had no firepower, neither that striker’s instinct. Did well to get past Dawson late in the second half, but misplaced his pass which would have given Rooney a wonderful opportunity to snatch the game late on.

Wayne Rooney: Was as usual, outstanding throughout the match. Scored both goals and for me was the man of the match for me.
