Roberts Out, Forrest And Dembele To Start – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Celtic Line-up To Face Paris Saint-Germain

Predicted Celtic Line-up To Face PSG In The Champions League

Celtic will face-off against French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain in the fifth round of their group fixtures of the UEFA Champions League, at the Parc des Princes, on Wednesday night.

The Scottish champions currently sit third in the group, behind Les Parisiens and German champions Bayern Munich after four games and look destined for a tilt in the UEFA Europa League. However, manager Brendan Rodgers would want his side to put on a strong display against Unai Emery’s side. The last time the two sides met at the Celtic Park, the match ended 5-0 in favour of PSG.

Team News

Manchester City loanee Patrick Roberts is likely to be sidelined for the midweek encounter, while full-back Anthony Ralston, who enjoyed a great battle against Neymar in the home leg of the clash is also ruled out. There remain question marks over the involvement of Jozo Simunovic and Erik Sviatchenko.

Here’s how the Bhoys might take the field against the French side on Wednesday:

Manager: Brendan Rodgers

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Craig Gordon (GK)

The undisputed first-choice between the sticks for the Bhoys, veteran keeper Craig Gordon will start in goal at the Parc des Princes.

Mikael Lustig (RB)

The Swedish defender has been in top form of late but will face a great test going up against Neymar.

Mikael Lustig

Dedryck Boyata (CB)

A constant fixture in the playing XI since his return from injury, the Belgian centre-half should once again take the field on Wednesday night.

Nir Bitton (CB)

The Israeli midfielder has shown improvements in his makeshift position recently, but he will have his task cut out against the threat of Edinson Cavani.

Kieran Tierney (LB)

On the left-hand side, we will get to see two of the most exciting young talents go to battle as Kieran Tierney will look to minimise the threat of Kylian Mbappe.

Scott Brown (CM)

The Bhoys’ most influential player on the field, the club captain Scott Brown is a definite starter for the big game on Wednesday.

Scott Brown

Stuart Armstrong (CM)

Partnering the captain in the middle of the park should be Stuart Armstrong. Will be key if Celtic are to come away with a positive result.

James Forrest (RW)

Having come in for the injured Roberts, the Scotsman has been extremely impressive in the past few games. Will look to carry that form into the game at the Parc des Princes.

Callum McGregor (CAM)

Operating behind the striker in the No.10 role should be Scottish international Callum McGregor, who could make his third Champions League appearance of the season.

Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele

Scott Sinclair (LW)

The Englishman has netted just a single goal in four Champions League games this term. Would want to add to his tally, playing against the French side.

Moussa Dembele (ST)

Leading the line for the Hoops against PSG should be France U-21 international Moussa Dembele. The forward will be keen on impressing on his home soil.
