Roofe Up Front, Hernandez On The Left – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Leeds Line-up To Face Wolves

Predicted Leeds United Line-up To Face Wolves In EFL Championship

Leeds United will face off against EFL Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night, at the Molineux.

The Whites managed to break a poor run of losses this past weekend when they defeated former manager Garry Monk’s Middlesbrough side by a scoreline of 2-1, and they will hope to build on that victory and put up a strong display against the Wolves. Manager Thomas Christiansen has found himself under pressure following recent results and he will know that a win against the league leaders is the best way to alleviate that pressure.

Team News

Striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga missed out on the win over Boro due to illness but could return to the matchday squad. Other than that Christiansen has a clean bill of health and will have all his players available for selection.

Here’s how Leeds might take the field on Wednesday night:

Manager: Thomas Christiansen

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Andy Lonergan (GK)

Has been a much more assured presence between the sticks than Felix Wiedwald. Should start against the Wolves on Wednesday.

Luke Ayling (RB)

The 26-year old showed signs of form against Middlesbrough last weekend and will look to build on that display in the midweek game.

Luke Ayling

Pontus Jansson (CB)

Put in one of his best displays of the season this past weekend. Will hope to do more of the same when the Wolves visit.

Liam Cooper (CB)

Partnering Jansson in the heart of the defence should be captain Liam Cooper. Will need to be at his best to keep out a Wolves side that has scored the most goals in the Championship.

Gaetano Berardi (LB)

At left-back, it should be former Switzerland international Gaetano Berardi. Hasn’t been all that convincing, but remains the manager’s best bet.

Kalvin Phillips (CM)

Had a solid outing against Boro on Sunday and should keep his place in the middle of the park for the clash against the leaders.

Kalvin Phillips

Ronaldo Vieira (CM)

Partnering Phillips in the second midfield pivot position should be teenage midfielder, Ronaldo Vieira. Is always a reliable presence in the middle, despite his young age. Another mature performance can be expected.

Ezgjan Alioski (RW)

The Macedonian was at his best against Middlesbrough, having struggled to get going in the past couple of months. Should keep his place on the right flank.

Samu Saiz (CAM)

Leeds’ best player of the season so far, the former Huesca man is definitely one of the first names on Christiansen’s team-sheet and that is unlikely to change.

Kemar Roofe (No.7)

Pablo Hernandez (LW)

Scored one of the two goals on the weekend and will look to build upon that display with another starring performance on Wednesday.

Kemar Roofe (ST)

Was asked to lead the line in Lasogga’s absence and he did so very effectively. The former Oxford United man should once again start at the tip of the attack.
