Revealed: Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp Has A Plan To Reduce Injuries At Anfield

New Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp managed three successive draws, with a win in his fourth game in charge of the club on Wednesday last weekend. It was considered another step in the right direction and the German has now made his presence felt after the win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. He has been showing a keen interest in the working of the medical department, with a long list of injured players as stated by Dailymail.

Andrew Massey, head of medical services at Liverpool, and Ryland Morgans, who is head of fitness and conditioning, will soon be tweaking the training schedules for each player.

Klopp, along with most managers, believes that muscular injuries, such as hamstring, thigh and calf tears, are preventable under improved, tailored supervision.

Several players have been suffering with muscular problems and tears and Klopp is determined to change the approach towards such injury problems by a change in regime.

Skipper Kolo Toure went off after just 33 minutes in the Reds’ 1-0 Capital One Cup win against Bournemouth with a hamstring injury to his left leg.

Nine first-team players, Alberto Moreno, Joe Allen, Adam Lallana, Christian Benteke, Dejan Lovren, Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho, Jordan Rossiter and Toure have now suffered muscular strains since the start of pre-season, which has hurt the Merseyside club in the bid to regain their top four credentials.

Further, Daniel Sturridge’s knee problems have kept him on the sidelines for most of last season and the current campaign till now.

It seems it’s time to change things at the club and rather soon if Liverpool want to be serious title contenders soon.
