Belgian international Thibaut Courtois feels that the media has got it all wrong about his relationship with veteran keeper Petr Cech at Chelsea. In a recent interview with HLN in their new premium edition, covered by Belgie Voetbal, the Blues’ goalie spoke about the whole situation and explained that the idea of him and the Czech Republic international being at war was false.
The former Atletico Madrid keeper is at present recovering from a knee injury and stated, “In every interview last year it was about my relationship with Cech. Apparently everyone thought we had blazing rows every day… it was just the opposite. Petr and I had a close relationship. Even now, we call each other frequently.”
Courtois was not at all pleased with the claims in the British media, which had hinted that he and current Arsenal Goalkeeper were at each other’s throats all the time, though according to his comments, it seems that they merely had healthy competition.
The west London side’s current first choice goalkeeper believes that the media misrepresent him, which creates unnecessary discomfort for him.
