Rating West Ham’s transfer window at 9/10 – Pellegrini’s squad is full of potential

Why West Ham United have enjoyed a highly successful transfer window

West Ham United appointed Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager after scraping through the relegation battle to survive in the Premier League. They have done some high-profile business this summer, which could set them up for a much better show this season.

The Hammers have covered almost every base with their signings, something which should please Pellegrini upon his arrival at London Stadium. Signing players from top-level clubs to strengthen various positions will aid them in making a significant impact this season.

Analyzing the incoming players this summer

The likes of Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko will add flair, a creative depth and cutting edge to the forward line. Both of them have played some imperious football with their previous clubs and West Ham fans must hope for more of the same. In fact, Anderson’s dribble rate is ranked third in Europe, which is a fantastic achievement as the list contains the likes of Neymar, Lionel Messi, etc.

Jack Wilshere

Jack Wilshere has been signed for free, which is probably the best business done. The Englishman is one of the best ball-playing central midfielders in the country and Pellegrini might use him in a midfield three with the license to move forward. This will also be Wilshere’s chance to prove his doubters wrong after leaving Arsenal.

The experience of Lukasz Fabianski will aid the team to be secured at the back as well. Joe Hart and Adrian were susceptible last season and hence, a seasoned campaigner like Fabianski could be key in every aspect of the game.

Defenders Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena are two quality players with the attributes to become a colossus in the Premier League. They will enhance a back line which leaked goals for fun last season.

Ryan Fredericks

With Pablo Zabaleta getting no younger, signing Ryan Fredericks will freshen up the right-back position. The former Fulham man has the required traits to be a fantastic player for the Hammers.

And finally, getting Carlos Sanchezhas added a perfect icing to the cake. He is a fantastic defensive midfielder who is also good on the ball.

Manager’s job to gel this team

Now, it is up to the Chilean to combine all the jigsaws and make them play as a team. It will be a tough road for him since it is his first season with the club. However, the potential is great, given the big-name signings the Hammers have made.
