Premier League’s Best Over 30’s XI

The Premier League is considered as one of the toughest leagues in the world and players are expected to be at the top of their game, especially when it comes to energy and impact, that is something you don’t expect from a player in his 30’s but that is exactly what some of the Premier League stars try to do, prove that age is just a number.

We try to create the best XI which has players from the Premier League who are at least 30 years of age or older, this is the Premier League 30’s team, could you do better?

 cech

Petr Cech

Cech might have been displayed by the younger Courtois at the start of the season but the Czech goalkeeper still is considered as one of the best goalkeepers in the World and could be off to a club which offers him regular football, he is that good.

Branislav Ivanovic

The 30 year old right back is one of the best at his position in the world. Ivanovic is not only brilliant defensively but also as an attacker, built like a tank, he runs up and down the right flank of Chelsea giving them a brilliant outlet.

Per Mertesacker

The Arsenal centre back might not be the fastest but he can read the game well and is one of the best defenders in the league.

John Terry

The leader and captain of Chelsea, Terry has looked as the best central defender at Chelsea often outshining the likes of Zouma and Cahill.

Leighton Baines

Probably the best left back in his age group, the 30 year old Baines is known more for his crosses but he can do a job in defence as well.

Mile Jedinak

Jedinak has been one of the best Palace players since last year and his industrious work rate puts him easily in the team.

Steven Gerrard

Gerrard might be leaving Liverpool but he can still do a good job if he is asked to ping balls around and not make tackles, for his passing ability he just about makes it into the team.

Yaya Toure

The power house of the team, Yaya Toure might be over 30 but that does not mean he cannot play well, Manchester City rely on him so much that when he was away on international duty, the Citizens struggled.

Stewart Downing

A new position playing more centrally has meant that Downing is finally showing what he really is capable off, Downing is one of the reasons why West Ham have done so well and it is no surprise he is part of this team based on this season’s performances.

Santi Cazorla

The 30 year old Spanish star has been one of the stand out performers for the Gunners this season. Santi can play a lot of positions and has been exceptional in attack for Arsenal this season.

Robin Van Persie

The Manchester United striker may not be having the best of seasons but if you give him a chance he will take it, he might have lost his pace but his finishing is still as deadly as ever.
