Premier League Team Of The Week Featuring Chelsea, Arsenal & Southampton Stars – Game Week 8

Midfielders:

Morgan Schneiderlin

This could have very easily have been Jack Cork, who scored a good goal at the weekend. However the offensive mentality of the Frenchman was always driving his side forward and he played a huge part in the first goal that got the rout started. He is the heartbeat of the Saints side, without him they wouldn’t be as effective as his pressing and passing range puts the opposition under huge threat.

James Milner

The Manchester City player was the engine on Saturday as he drove his team-mates to a great result. A lot of the work he did wasn’t noticed, but the Englishman’s great form at the start of this season continued as he made a number of crucial tackles and interceptions, while he threatened in the final third himself. He adds balance to a midfield including lots of offensive talent.

Dusan Tadic

The Eredivisie has sometimes been seen as one of Europe’s poorer leagues, which creates doubts about players brought in from the division, but there is no doubt that the Southampton midfielder is the real deal. In the Saints’ 8-0 thrashing of Sunderland, Tadic managed to get four assists as well as getting a goal for himself. His eye for a pass is incredible, while his general play in the final third makes him a difficult player to defend against. Southampton fans will have already forgotten about Adam Lallana with Tadic in the side.

Oscar

The Brazilian scored a wonderful free kick against Crystal Palace and was a threat throughout in the attacking third. His link up play with Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard is exceptional and as a trio, they will create and score lots of goals for Chelsea this campaign. His positional sense is also brilliant, as he often finds space in the opposition half. The attacking midfielder also managed to get the assist for Fabregas’ goal, showing the influence he had over the result.
