Richarlison And Okaka To Start – Strongest 4-3-3 Watford Lineup To Take On AFC Bournemouth

Predicted Watford Lineup To Face AFC Bournemouth In The Premier League

Watford will take on AFC Bournemouth in their second Premier League fixture of the season, at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

The Hornets managed to rescue a point in their season opener against Liverpool at home, that ended in an action-filled 3-3 draw, thanks to a late goal from Miguel Britos. New manager Marco Silva will be hoping to do one better this time around and aim for three points. The Cherries lost their opening game, against West Bromwich Albion, and will be keen on bouncing back.

Team News

A horde of injuries for Silva to be worried about as he saw full-back Daryl Janmaat and midfielder Roberto Pereyra being taken off injured in the opener at the Vicarage Road, while centre-back Younes Kaboul too is unlikely to feature. These join the likes of Craig Cathcart, Troy Deeney and Christian Kabasele on the treatment tables. Mauro Zarate is a long-term absentee due to an ACL injury.

Manager: Marco Silva

Formation: 4-3-3

Heurelho Gomes (GK)

The veteran shot-stopper gave away a penalty that allowed Liverpool a way back into the game. Will need to put in a better display.

Kiko Femenia (RB)

Did not start against Liverpool, but replaced Janmaat once he was injured. Expect the new signing to start from the get-go on Saturday.

Nathaniel Chalobah

Sebastian Prodl (CB)

The Austrian was one of Watford’s best players last season, but was benched for the opener. With Kaboul set to miss out, he should start at the centre of the backline.

Miguel Britos (CB)

The Uruguayan was the hero for the Hornets, scoring the late equaliser against Liverpool. Set to partner Prodl at the heart of the defence.

Jose Holebas (LB)

The Greek international enjoyed a fine game against the Reds and was a great outlet down the left-hand side. Another start beckons for him.

Nathaniel Chalobah (CM)

The former Chelsea man made his debut against Liverpool and had a mixed outing. Will want to stamp his authority in the midfield.

Abdoulaye Doucoure (CM)

Was one of Watford’s best players in the season opener, winning duels in midfield and scoring a goal as well. Definite starter.

Tom Cleverley

The Englishman will occupy the third spot in the midfield. Needs to start pulling his weight though and start impacting games more.

Nordin Amrabat (RW)

The Moroccan winger is another one who needs to pull up his socks and perform better while going forward for the Hornets.

Stefano Okaka (ST)

The big man was always a threat against Liverpool and scored the opener as well. Likely to start again, ahead of record signing Andre Gray.

Richarlison (LW)

The Brazilian youngster put on an encouraging display coming on as a substitute in the opener. Very much likely to be given a starting berth.
