Liverpool welcome Blackburn Rovers to Anfield on Sunday with either team 90 minutes away from a Wembley date. The Reds will be looking to keep their hopes for silverware alive this season with a win against the Championship side, while Blackburn will be looking to replicate the likes of Middlesbrough who upset Manchester City on their own backyard.

Brendan Rodgers will definitely continue with the 3-4-3 formation which has worked to good effect in recent matches, and should have skipper Steven Gerrard back for this one. Let’s take a look at the Liverpool lineup which could take the field on Sunday.

Goalkeeper – Simon Mignolet.

Liverpool’s No.1 between the sticks without a doubt, Mignolet has been in good form of late.

Defence – Can, Skrtel, Sakho.

Emre Can has done reasonably well in a back three and should continue at the back alongside the feisty Martin Skrtel and the returning Mamadou Sakho, who has been Liverpool’s most consistent defender this season.

Midfield – Markovic, Allen, Henderson, Moreno.

Lazar Markovic and Alberto Moreno should provide energy and thrust down the flanks in addition to defensive protection, while Joe Allen should return to the starting lineup.

Forwards – Lallana, Sterling, Sturridge.

Adam Lallana should start on the right hand side of a forward threesome which includes the sprightly Raheem Sterling and the dangerous Daniel Sturridge. Sturridge has shown sparks of his best form since coming back from injury but Liverpool need goals from their main man if they are to harbor any hopes of silverware in the FA Cup.
