Player At Carrington For Meeting Today: Manchester United To Seal Transfer Soon

Manchester United player Guillermo Varela is looking forward to the move to Genoa. This way he will get a chance to play a meaningful term rather being a replacement during injuries at Old Trafford.

According to Gazetta dello Sport, Varela’s agent Paolo Betancourt has conveyed that Varela has agreed to join Genoa on loan and the transfer will include the right of redemption of €3m.

Reports suggest that Varela and his representatives had a meeting with Louis Van Gaal on 29-01-2016 to get the final approval from the Dutchman with regards to the move for the player. Earlier claims from the Gazetta and TMW stated that Van Gaal was against the move.

Van Gaal not being happy with the transfer can be gauged easily as currently the Dutchman needs Varela in the team, even though it may just be to fill the numbers. Manchester United is facing an injury crisis and currently without any reinforcements coming into the club and Varela leaving this is a nightmare for Van Gaal.
